Making Magic

Day 1 of Epic camp was a long beautiful day on the Big Island. It began with a visit from the dolphins on our swim–always magical. What an amazing group of women we have assembled here this year. 10 superstars. The winds on the Queen K were in full force and the heat on our timed 10k climb up 3500 ft was zapping, and the girls were flying with power and positive vibes. It was lovely. 3k swim, 10 run with superstar marathoner Katie, and 180 ride only about 40 km of which was in the rain. But, the rain came down on a fast and furious descent and I noticed something that happened to me here last year: I am fully over any fears I once had of descending. I hit that descent in my aerobars feeling comfortable and totally at peace. More magic on the Big Island.
