EWC Day 7 – Muejer del Dias and facials

To borrow one of my favourite phrases I’ve learned on this trip from Daz…we smashed it on day 7. A 110km ride fait accompli…thank god. We climbed over 1,500 metres and part of this consisted of a 10km Hill Climbing Time Trial…my favourite.

I think the jersey I was in today brought me a little bit of luck. I made “Play of the Day” yesterday for a combination of using the polite way to articulate myself during a bike ride and for making a strong improvement since the first road ride of the camp. I suited up with the ZOOT jersey with Muejer Del Dias and I must say I felt like I was looking pretty fine…almost pro. :)
Today was a testy ride and as usual the wind was very moody, even in a tail wind, a gust of wind can sneak up beside you and threaten to blow you off the bike. Today, I have found the solution for women trying to maintain a beauty regime in this tough economy, where spa treatments and facials take the back seat to more important bills – cycle up the LZ-1 in Lanzarote. The blowing gusts of sand act as a fine abrasive spray on your face. I’d suggest it over microdermabrasion any day and it is cheaper!

Today my roomie, Iona – My Sharona – has had the “Play of the Day” jersey awarded to her…careful ladies, this room could be plotting a takeover in the final day of EWC 2014.

I’m as full as a python after the kill tonight after celebrating little Maya’s 2nd birthday and Wendy’s birthday. Thanks Debs and Daz for a great spread tonight.
