This evening marks the end of the 3rd day of the 2014 EPIC Woman Lanzarote camp. It has been a remarkable experience so far with daily swims, long rides and hilly runs. Thank goodness for the generosity of the camp sponsors, GU and Zoot, and the wisdom and support of the top-notch coaches, Tara and Joe. I must also send out my sincere thanks to Barry and his fabulous crew at the Toronto TREK store as Barry made it possible for me to bring a kick-ass WSD TREK Domane to ride through Lanzarote’s amazingly unique and challenging landscape. The Domane has been a fabulous ride to say the least!!
The volcanic environment of Lanzarote is unlike anything I have ever seen before and the coastal areas are truly stunning. The island is both beautiful and ruggedly wild and while just being here is an experience of its own, the EPIC camp has been near indescribable on a deeply personal level. Our group consists of nothing but fine women who are determined, strong, inspiring and supportive. The daily training has offered me opportunities to share in the successes of my team mates, test my abilities and resolve, and most importantly, discover new aspects of myself. I am excited to see what the next few days have in store!!
